Inventors at Teradyne Connection Systems Receive 19 Patents

Eight Teradyne Engineers Recognized for Technology Innovations

Nashua, NH, April 14, 2003 - Teradyne announced today that eight engineers employed at Teradyne Connection Systems (TCS) were awarded with 19 patents for innovations related to the Division's connectors and printed circuit board technologies. The patents were handed out at ceremonies held Thursday, April 10 at the company's Nashua, New Hampshire headquarters.

Allan Astbury, Marc Cartier, Tom Cohen, Mark Gailus, Sepehr Kiani, Gerry Marvin, David McNamara, and Phil Stokoe were presented with plaques representing their inventions and patent numbers from the United States Patent Office. The patents were issued during the last year and represent innovations associated with Teradyne's GbXT, VHDM®, and NeXLev® family of electrical connector products as well as several other enabling technologies.

Presentations were made by members of Teradyne's management team, Ed Rogas, Senior Vice President and Ed Walsh, intellectual property counsel, and from TCS, Rick Schneider, President and Tom Pitten, Engineering Manager. "Innovation has always been at the core of our success in the marketplace," said Schneider. "The intellectual property represented by these patents is vital to keeping us ahead of the competition. We are extremely proud of this group of inventors and congratulate them on their achievements."
