Amphenol TCS Extends AirMax VS® Platform as Identical Second Source for FCI

AirMax VS Vertical Header and Right Angle Receptacle Configurations Now Available

Nashua, NH, January 15, 2008 – Amphenol TCS, the leading provider of high performance backplane interconnect systems today announced it has tooled vertical header and right angle receptacle configurations ( also known as reverse gender) of the AirMax VS® connector system. The reverse gender product configurations deliver the same proven performance as standard AirMax VS while providing equipment manufacturers with additional design flexibility. Amphenol TCS is the licensed second source for FCI’s AirMax VS product family.

The ability to select either header blades on the backplane or on the daughtercard gives designers a complete packaging solution. By tooling the reverse gender version of the AirMax VS connector, Amphenol TCS can now offer customers the option to use AirMax VS for traditional right angle as well as co-planar and mezzanine applications.
