FTP Instructions

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a process that computers use to electronically send files from one computer to another over the Internet. There are a number of FTP client programs with graphical user interfaces available, particularly for PC and Macintosh computers. Contact your local system administrator for assistance.

Amphenol TCS FTP User Instructions:
The following instructions are for using Amphenol's Anonymous FTP Account. This is a non-confidential (unsecured) FTP account that is non-password protected and viewable to anyone on the internet. Anonymous FTP can only be used for in-bound data transfer. When depositing in this account, the sender must notify Document Control within 24 hours of depost via Email, phone, or fax. Amphenol TCS is not responsible for lost files if the sender does not notify Document Control. If you would like to request a Secure FTP Account click here.

Step 1:
Type: ftp.amphenol-tcs.com
Step 2:
When prompted for a user name type "anonymous" or "ftp"
Step 3:
When prompted for a password: your email address
Step 4:
Type cd incoming to change to the incoming directory
Step 5:

Type binary

Use the commands in your FTP program to get a directory listing (ls or dir), move about in the file structure (cd), retrieve files (get), and place files on the system (put).

Step 6:

Use put to place files

View list of data exchange and tooling requirements

Notify Document Control Department within 24 hours.

Additional Information:
If you resend a file you must rename it. Files cannot be overwritten.

Files in the directory will be removed after 3 days or 72 hours.

Secure FTP Accounts
Secure FTP accounts are available for customers or suppliers who need to send or receive files in a secure environment. If you would like to request a secure FTP account, please download the following document:
