What
is the maximum performance signal at which the HD Plus connector
should be used?
HD Plus performs well up to about 1-nanosecond signal speeds.
Teradyne would recommend HDM or VHDM for faster signal speeds.
What is the
rating for this connector system?
Signal contacts are rated for one amp. The power connector
is rated for 20 amps per blade. The Plus one shields are designed
to carry power in some cases and are rated at 3 amps.
Mechanical
What is
the widest connector slot I can design with the HD Plus modular
connector?
Teradyne recommends that 19 inches be the widest connector
for most applications. Wider connectors may work if three
guidepins are used.
Are the modules
available in pressfit and soldertail?
The backplane (male) side is primarily available in pressfit,
however securely attached to a stiffener that is fastened
to the daughtercard before soldering. The female side of the
connector is available in soldertail only. The modules are
securely attached to a stiffener that is fastened to the daughtercard
before soldering.
